ILL E. GAL INTERVIEW: DRC "FROM THE GROUND UNDA" MUSIC SERIES BY SHEMROK CHRIST

ILL E. GAL  female MC and Pot Star hails from New England. She has been holding it down for the underground since she began rapping in 2002. In 2005 she started tearing up the stage, teaming up with Miss Tress and released "T.H.C. "Wings" in 2007. Since then she has become the "Queen of the Underground." Her debut solo album "The Grass Is Always Greener..." is available now featuring "Super Sonic Chronic" with Daddy X of Kottonmouth Kings.ILL E. GAL has performed at the past 4 Gathering Of The Juggalos, as well as opening for the likes of Tech N9ne, Blaze Ya Dead Homie, ABK, Potluck, Tila Tiquila & more. She has also been featured in High Times & Murderdog Magazine. This is true High Hop at its finest!
DRC :FIRST OFF, TELL THE FANS OUT THERE WHO ILL E GAL IS AND WHAT YOUR MOVEMENT IS ALL ABOUT?

ILL E. GAL:Whats up Party People?! I am ill e. gal, an underground female MC & producer. Ive been rapping for 8 years and performing shows for 5. Ive released two full length albums and done shows all over the country. My original movement was to be a voice for women in the underground/juggalo scene. I feel like I have accomplished that goal and then some. Now I am branching off into a whole new movement in music which you will know about later in your lives ;)

DRC:.IN A MALE DOMINATED GENRE SUCH AS HIP HOP, DO YOU FIND IT HARDER TO GAIN ACCEPTANCE BEING A FEMALE EMCEE?
AND WHO ARE YOUR TOP FIVE FEMALE RAPPERS OF ALL TIME?

ILL E. GAL:I used to feel it was harder being a woman in the beginning. People tend to not take you seriously. But I overcame many obstacles and proved myself to be a strong contender in a world of men. Now I feel like being a female is a HUGE advantage, because even now, years later, its STILL rare to see. Honestly, its hard to name even 5 favorite female rappers. I've always admired Left Eye (R.I.P.) but thats about it.

DRC: ARE THERE ANY FEMALE ROCK SINGERS OR BANDS YOU WOULD WANT TO WORK WITH?

ILL E. GAL:Maybe Gwen Stefani? Lady Gaga? There really arent too many strong female artists in the mainstream these days....

DRC:HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE CURRENT STATE OF THE MUSIC INDUSTRY? DO YOU FEEL THERE ARE MORE DOORS OPEN FOR INDIE ARTIST SUCH AS YOUR SELF?

ILL E. GAL:Ugh, its tough. Like the economy, the music business is suffering BIG TIME. Because of the internet and technology people don't want to buy CD's anymore. People burn cds, download tracks and the musicians are the ones paying the price. There is a huge shift going on and I really hope things start to change for the better. I feel like there aren't too many open doors for indie artists these days. Its cutthroat and everyone is a rapper these days. There is a lack of originality, heart and drive and it makes it harder for the real artists to rise above. I still believe, if you are original and your heart is in the right place, those doors will open. Even if its just a crack....

DRC:CAN YOU TAKE US THROUGH THE CREATIVE PROCESS OF ONE OF YOUR TRACKS? WHAT INSPIRES THE TOPICS YOU WRITE ABOUT? WHO HANDLES YOUR PRODUCTION?

Usually I just get a a concept for a song and write, weather I have a beat or not. Sometimes I find a beat I love and write according to how it makes me feel. Theres no certain way to make a song, it just happens naturally. And I usually write about my experiences in life. I can only write what I know. And what I feel. It's a pure emotional release. As for producers, I've had many over the years. I have even made some of my own beats, which I am doing more now. I am also expanding into a new genre called Dubstep and I have found many awesome producers and DJ's there as well.

DRC: YOU RECORDED A SICK ASS COLLABORATION WITH DADDY X FROM KOTTONMOUTH KINGS CALLED "SUPER SONIC CHRONIC" HOW DID THAT TRACK COME ABOUT?
ANY OTHER RAPPERS OR GROUPS YOUR PLANNING TO WORK WITH IN THE FUTURE?

ILL E. GAL:I have been lucky enough to gain support from my hero's in the underground such as Daddy X and Violent J. So I asked X if he would be interested in being on my album, sent him the song and he loved it! I was thrilled when I got it back. One of the best songs I've done to date. Its a fun stoner jam, with one of my favorite artists, whats better then that?! I plan to work with many other rappers and producers in the future. You'll have to wait and see! ;)

DRC:WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE SUB-GENRES OF HIP HOP?

ILL E. GAL:Well, I have always been into wicked shit, but not really horrorcore so to speak. I love artists like Tech N9ne and the Jokerr for their triphop flows. Living out in Minnesota gave me a taste of the backpack scene. But what I am most excited about is the cross breeding of genres. Like Hip Hop mixed with electronica. Its going to bring some fun and life back into a cold world.

DRC:WHAT TYPES OF MUSIC BESIDES HIP HOP INFLUENCES YOU ? WHAT ARE YOUR NON- MUSICAL INFLUENCES?

ILL E. GAL:I love music in general. And I can respect every genre for what it is, and every artist for who they are. I was heavy into the punk rock scene before the juggalo scene, and now I am moving more into the electronica scene. I will always love classic rock and do-wop due to my parents. They are music lovers as well. And we all feel like life wouldn't be the same without it.

As far as non-musical influences, legalization of marijuana has always been a big one for me. I am a pot head and so are many people I know. But we are criminals!? I think not. Thats why the name ill e. gal holds so much signifignace. Things are not always what they appear to be. I also take influence from life in general. The good times. The bad times. Love. And broken hearts. My family and friends inspire me everyday. The world is a hurting place right now, and if I can make music to help people get through it, whats better then that?

DRC:YOU'VE BUILT UP A STRONG RESUME OF LIVE PERFORMANCES! WHAT IS THE ILL E GAL LIVE EXPERIENCE LIKE? WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE SHOWS YOU'VE PLAYED SO FAR AND WITH WHO?

ILL E. GAL:Its hard to say what the experience is like since I am the one on stage, but I have been so well received over the years I feel like I must be doing something right! I basically just get up there and do my thing. I feel like I have a good energy and stage presence. Its been simple but I am looking to expand my live shows to make them more entertaining for the audience. I have played some remarkable shows at great venues with artists that inspire me.

Opening for Tech N9ne in Minneapolis is 2006 was awesome. Performing 2 shows in California with Blaze Ya Dead Homie in 2008. Opening for ABK in New England Potluck in 2009. And then performing at the Worcester Palladium opening for Twiztod at Rock and Shock this past October was a dream come true. Performing at the Marijuana Music Awards in Brookyln, The Boston Freedom Rally and The Gathering of the Juggalos 2007-2010 also top the list. Especially this past year, they had Ladies Night and I basically stole the show. We all know what happened to Tila Tiquila...

DRC:HAVING TRAVELED SO MUCH ACROSS THE U.S SPREADING YOUR MUSIC , WHATS YOUR BEST WEED INFLUENCED ROAD STORY?

LOL! There are so many. One that sticks out to me inolves DJ Bobby B of Kottonmouth Kings. At the Gathering of the Juggalos in 2003 (in Ohio) I met KMK and smoked some lemon weed with Bobby B. Just as a fan and aspiring rapper. This past year (in Illinois), I was able to chill with im. He smoked with me and told me how proud I should feel for what I've accomplished. He later went on to give me the bowl we were smoking out of! Its a great memory and proved to me 8 years of hard work and dedication had finally paid off!

DRC: HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT FANS DOWNLOADING MUSIC FOR FREE? DOES IT MAKE YOU GRIND HARDER WITH LIVE SHOWS AND MERCH?

ILL E. GAL:You have no choice but to grind harder. The shift is taking place like I said earlier. So you have to adapt to survive. It really has gotten to the point where the music should be free. And money can be made off tours and merchandise instead. It's really been a struggle for me. Im enthralled with the fact that if people want my music bad enough they can get it for free. The more people that like it the better, but its also hard to make a legitimate living off music alone.

DRC: WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD FOR ILL E GAL?

ILL E. GAL:I am taking some time off from doing shows and focusing on a few new projects for 2011. I have so much I want to do and say, but time will reveal it all. Keep a look out for the Princess Bright Bird EP!

DRC: THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO TALK TO US HERE AT DRUGRATZ.COM, ONE LAST QUESTION, IF YOU COULD DO A COLLABORATION WITH ANY DEAD MUSICIAN FROM ANY GENRE OF MUSIC ,WHO WOULD YOU ROCK A TRACK WITH WALKING DEAD STYLE?

ILL E. GAL:Right now I would say John Lennon or Bradley Nowell. 2 amazing artists who left this world too soon, but made beautiful music while they were here. Thanks for doing the interview with me and thank YOU for reading it :)

BACK IN THE DAY WITH SHEMROK CHRIST:FORCE FIVE

* NEW ON-GOING RANT ABOUT THE FRESHEST CARTOONS ,TOYS, AND SHOWS  WE HAD GROWING UP*

OUT OF ALL THE FRESHEST CARTOONS GROWING UP, NOTHING QUITE BEATS GIANT ROBOTS! BUT BEFORE THE AUTOBOTS ROLLED OUT IN TRANSFORMERS,OR VOLTRON  WAS BATTLING ROBO -BEASTS, THERE WAS FORCE FIVE. IF YOU GREW UP IN THE NEW ENGLAND AREA YOU WERE IN ONE OF THE FEW LUCKY MARKETS THAT THIS INCREDIBLE SICK ASS SERIES WAS SHOWN.(VIRGINIA,TEXAS,AND CALIFORNIA BEING SOME OTHERS).CREATED TO PROMOTE THE POPULAR SHOGUN WARRIORS  GIANT ROBOT TOYLINE AND COMICBOOKS  FROM MATTEL AND MARVEL COMICS
EACH WEEKDAY BROUGHT A DIFFERENT ROBOT ACTION ADVENTURE JAMMY.

ON  MONDAYS  DANGARD ACE WAS SHOWN.
{Danguard Ace takes place on a future Earth in which nearly all natural resources have been depleted. People have begun looking toward other planets to survive, in particular the fictional tenth planet, Promete. Although people had hoped to peacefully begin settlement there, disaster strikes as the first explorers are destroyed by betrayal.
After this event, an individual named Mr. Doppler leaves toward Promete on his own ship, and declares himself Chancellor of the planet. Using Promete's resources, Chancellor Doppler constructs a vast military force greater than that of Earth's. He forbids anyone approaching the planet, under the insane belief that only he is entitled to it.
To gain control of Promete, the governments of Earth begin constructing massive combat robots. Doppler is able to attack and destroy all robots before they are completed, except for Danguard Ace. The forces sent to attack Danguard's base were destroyed because of the efforts of Captain Dan. Nothing is known of this mysterious man, save that he previously served Doppler while under mind control.
Takuma Ichimonji, son of the man who betrayed the initial Promete exploration team, becomes a cadet at Danguard's base. Ichimonji hopes that he might restore his fathers honor by fighting against Doppler's forces.}

ON TUESDAY WE FOLLOWED THE ADVENTURES OF THE STARVENGERS , WHICH GAVE US NOT ONE BUT 3 GIANT ROBOTS  WHICH WERE FORMED BY 3 DIFFERENT SPACESHIPS
{ Dragon is the red jet, controlled by the pilot of Getter Dragon. Liger, the blue jet, is used by Getter Liger's pilot. Getter Poseidon's operator uses Poseidon, the yellow machine. All three are armed with missiles, but are generally very weak and never used in combat unless absolutely necessary. They also appear when the pilots use the Break Formation verbal command to break up the current form, so that they can change into another or so they can dodge an enemy's attack.}

WEDNESDAYS  BELONGED  TO GRENDIZER , A GIANT ROBOT/SHIP  THAT WAS CARRIED IN A U.F.O. SHELL AND LAUNCHED DURING BATTLE
{The Vega homeworld has become unstable due to the exploiting of Vegatron, a powerful radioactive ore. Seeking to expand his militaristic empire and find a substitute planet to settle upon, the ruthless King Vega unleashes his armies — composed of flying saucers and giant robotic monsters — and turns first against neighbors such as Fleed, a highly advanced but peaceful world. In a tragically ironic twist, the invaders' blitzkrieg turns against them: the once verdant, idyllic Fleed is turned into a radioactive wasteland. Too late, the only known survivor of the royal family, Prince Duke Fleed, manages to steal the Grendizer, the robotic embodiment of the Fleedian God of War, from the Vegan invaders who plan to use it to spearhead their invasion fleet. Grendizer is a giant robot that interfaces with Spazer, a flying saucer that enables the robot to fly.
Fleeing Vegan space by flying at faster than light speed, Duke enters our solar system and switches course to Earth, making a rough landing in Japan, on the slopes of Mount Fuji. He is befriended by Doctor Umon, a noted scientist who oversees a research laboratory called the Space Science Lab near a small ranch. The kindly Umon takes in the young humanoid alien as his son, under the assumed name of Daisuke, and assists him in hiding Grendizer. Taking the name Daisuke Umon, Duke Fleed works at the ranch run by Danbei Makiba
Roughly two years later, Kouji Kabuto returns to Japan after studying abroad in a flying saucer he personally designed and built (called the TFO). He heads to the Space Science Lab after hearing of multiple sightings of "flying saucers". He plans to contact the aliens if possible and make peace with them. Daisuke, however, scoffs at the notion and fears that these aliens, the Vegans, led by generals Blaki and Gandal, are preparing to attack Earth. Kouji ignores his warnings and flies out to meet the incoming saucers, only to discover the horrible truth. In order to save Kouji and protect his adoptive homeworld from destruction, Daisuke is forced to return to his true identity as Duke Fleed. He unearths Grendizer from its hiding place under the lab and sets off to fight his enemies.
The Vegans establish a base on the dark side of the moon and start to attack Earth from there. Kouji discovers Duke Fleed’s true identity and their bitter rivalry soon turns to friendship. The daughter of Danbei Makiba, Hikaru, also discovers Daisuke’s secret and becomes a pilot in order to assist him despite his objections. Later on, it is revealed that there were two more survivors from planet Fleed: Duke’s younger sister Maria Grace Fleed and a man who had rescued her and fled to Earth, raising her under the guise of her grandfather. Caught in a crossfire between Grendizer and a Vegan beast, he reveals to Maria that she is the last survivor of the royal family of Fleed (under the belief that Duke was killed) before dying from his wounds. Maria swears revenge on Grendizer and its pilot. She tries to ambush Duke, Kouji and Hikaru at the Space Science Lab, but the fight is short lived. Maria’s attacks brings Duke’s necklace (which is the same as the one she wore) into view and the truth is revealed. The lost siblings are reunited at last and Maria becomes the last addition to the team.
As the conflict nears the end, it is shown that Duke Fleed was engaged to King Vega’s daughter, Princess Rubina, prior to the attack on Fleed. When Rubina discovers that planet Fleed is no longer polluted with Vegatron radiation and that her fiancé is alive and well, she rushes to Earth to bring him the good news. Unfortunately, one of King Vega’s generals uses this opportunity to ambush Duke Fleed, and Rubina is killed when she takes a shot aimed at Duke. This makes Duke even more determined to wipe out the Vegan menace once and for all.
King Vega decides to gather his remaining forces and make an all-out attack on Earth, destroying the Moon Base to coax his troops into fighting to the end and finally succeed in invading Earth and taking it as their new home planet. Duke and company go out to intercept them in Grendizer and the newly-designed space combat Spazers. After a fierce battle, they finally manage to destroy the Vegan mothership along with King Vega himself. Soon afterwards, Duke and Maria bid a tearful farewell to Earth and their friends and return to help reconstruct planet Fleed.}
THURSDAY CONTINUED THE SERIES WITH THE SPACEKEETERS, WHO DIDNT  USE GIANT ROBOTS AND BATTLE BUT HAD AWESOME WEAPONS THEY USED TO FIGHT GIANT MONSTERS(WITH A TEAM TEMPLATE LATER USED BY VOLTORN AND POWER RANGERS ECT.)
{The story revolves around the Princess of the Moon, Aurora and her three cyborg companions (Kugo, Djorgo, Haka) who must travel to the Great King planet and restore the Galaxy Energy. The universe is becoming more and more unbalanced as the Queen of the great Planet grows older. Their adventure includes battling the starmen who are transformed from the unbalanced minerals and planets.}

WHICH BRINGS US TO FRIDAY ,AND LIKE MANY OF MY FRIENDS IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD, THIS WAS THE DAY WE WAITED ALL WEEK FOR. THE REASON WAS BECAUSE FRIDAYS WAS THE DAY THEY SHOWED  GAIKING!  GAIKING WAS BY FAR THE FRESHEST, ILLEST GIANT ROBOT OF THE FORCE FIVE SERIES AND HE JUST STRAIT UP OWNED SHIT!
{The story chronicled the battle between the crew of the semi-transformable carrier Daikū Maryū  and the Super Robot Gaiking invented by Prof. Hightech against an invading race of aliens called the Dark Horror Army from the planet Zela whose home planet is facing destruction by a black hole as their population starts to mutate (the fact that their bearded ruler now wears his face on upside-down is considered only a minor mutation). Notable aspects of the series include the dinosaur-based designs of the Daikū Maryū and its support machines and the use of part of the carrier to form the main robot. The robot Gaiking was piloted by former baseball star named Aries Astronopolis with the carrier being called the "Great Space Dragon, who was drafted for the job because his latent psychic powers made him the only one capable of doing so, all other similarly empowered candidates having been assassinated by alien agents with he himself having been injured in an attack that ended his sports career. Gaiking is most easily distinguished from other mecha by its skull-shaped golden torso formed from the head of the Daikū Maryū and its golden horns.}

ON TOP OF THE SHOW ,THERE HAVE BEEN MOVIES DEDICATED TO EACH OF THE ROBOTS FROM THE FORCE FIVE SERIES, AS WELL AS MULTIPLE TOY LINES. AS ONE OF THE FIRST GREAT CARTOON  ROBOT SERIES FROM JAPAN TO HIT U.S. TELEVISON SETS,YOU CAN SEE THE INFLUENCE IT WOULD HAVE ON OTHER SIMILAR SHOWS IN YEARS TO COME LIKE STAR BLAZERS,ROBOTECH ,TRANZOR  Z ,AND ALL THE REST!

The wait is over!

What up, it's that killa Jester X with the first installment of my "whenever the fuck I feel like doing it" Geeked Out Game Review. Friday morning I got up mad early (9:45 ha!), got dressed and went straight to my local Gamestop. I got there right as they were opening and promptly went in to pick up my MOVE and Navigation controllers that I had preordered earlier last week. Unfortunately the asshole working there failed to tell me the game I reserved doesn't come out til next month. So, I ended up getting Sports Champion instead. But before I get into that, let's talk about the Move itself.
The controller is very comfortable to hold. The placement of the buttons is smart and easy to adapt to. The only exception being the PS button which is about 1/2in too far up and people with bigger hands will probably hit it on accident more than a few times (2Phace...). The tracking ball is squishy, which I didn't expect but it was a good choice.
The way the camera picks up the Move is astounding. It's so fast and accurate. Every slight motion is portrayed perfectly on screen. So much so that, IMO, Nintendo wasted their time making the Wii Motion Plus. But, the coolest thing about the on screen interaction is the way you cycle through the XMB. Just pull the trigger and point. DOPE.
I haven't played any games that require the Navi controller yet so I don't have much to say at this time. It's similar to the Wii's Nunchuck with more buttons. Most notable is the D-Pad right under the joystick. Genius. Who the fuck uses their right hand for that anyway? The joystick feels just like the ones on the six-axis and dual shock 3 controllers. But like I said before, I haven't used it yet and since I don't like shooters I probably won't for a while so we'll just have to wait for that one.
Onto the game. Sports Champion is pretty dope. The landscapes are gorgeous and the choice of games is pretty cool. It's not your run-of-the-mill sports minigame package. Disc Golf is mad fun. I've gotten into a few heated matches already. I just wish there was more choices for courses. There's only 1 18 stage course that can be split into 3 different 6 hole courses. Gladiator Duel is my favorite and it's a fucking workout. Weapon and Shield fighting just like the slaves used to do. The only difference is that you don't really die if you lose. Archery is dope, especially with 2 Move controllers. You can hold the bow at any angle you want and the distance between the controllers decides the power of the shot. Beach Volleyball is about as cool as beach volleyball. I personally hate it and I don't think it controls very well. Then again I don't know the first thing about volleyball whereas I actually have played all the other games. Bocce is awesome. I was pumped when I saw that on there. Me and Jameso are archnemeses. There are mad different courses and they're all pretty cool, save for the first one which is for practice. Last but not least, Table Tennis. 2Phace whooped my ass mad times at that shit but I'm finally starting to catch up in skill to him. Last game we played was 15-13 him. Next time he's mine though.
As fun as the game is it wouldn't be half of what it is without the move controller. I'm pumped to see what else Sony has in store. Well, that's that. I hope this Geeked Out Game Review made everyone throw out their ShitBoxes and forget about that K'Nex thing. Keep the Wiis though. That shit's pretty cool. Until next time Drugratz..... Kill your parents.

DRC Entertainment BIO

DRC ENTERTAINMENT
a music of imminent infamy

DRC Ent. (DRC Records) is an independent record company devoted to releasing underground music from an array of genres. DRC (short for Drugrat City) was started in early 2008 by Shemrok and Acidrop to release and promote artists with similar interests. With DRC's roots in both the Boston area and Los Angeles, the styles, fans, and Drugratz are quite diverse and devoted to the artistic progression and expression of one another.
Cooler Than Smack formed in the mid-90's by Shemrok and Driftski, creating a dusted, break-heavy, hip-hop style completely their own. In 1997, the group released "Disco Dust Delight" on their own record label "Linoleum Records. "Disco Dust Delight" was a short EP of raw, heavy hip-hop madness. CTS became underground legends, rocking live shows in true hip-hop fashion complete with DJ's and B-Boys bringing the live energy of rap's origins. 1998 saw the release of "Diabolical Dope Act", their first full-length LP, and it hit the hip-hop underground with critical acclaim, giving them the reputation of "The Beastie Boys on angeldust". The singles "Elephants" and “Junkies on Credit” saw moderate radio play on WBCN, and gained a reputation for being one of the livest acts in the Boston area. Driftski and Shemrok eventually had a falling out, and Drift kept Linoleum Records, Shemrok kept Cooler Than Smack. The two have since reconciled, and DRC was formed as a sister label to Linoleum Records.
The first planned release from DRC was "Drugrat Fieldtrip", with the new line up of Shemrok (now Shemrok Christ) and Acidrop. The album was recorded in 2004-2005 and instantly created a stir amongst the hip-hop community because of it's unique lyrics, beats and humor. By the time the album was finished, the two decided to start an independent record label in which to release their own music. After a few name changes, and Shemrok's move to the west coast, things began to really come together in early 2007, when the first BOD songs were being written.
BOD was a strong show of progression for Shemrok, a new start to express the madness behind his nihilistic behavior of the past. Acidrop recorded the first Clambake album "Selfish Shellfish" around this time. Clambake was a display of pure punk rock apathy, sometimes not rehearsing for months before playing a show. Clambake made a name for themselves through Massachusetts made a real connection amongst hip-hop fans and punk rock fans alike. With the creative energy being focused on something besides CTS, there began developing a small library of potential releases for the yet-unnamed record label. Everything started fully coming together when BOD released their first full-length "Night of the Toxic Dead". The mix of political rabble-rousing, alien conspiracies, and horror-core was a diverse and impressive blend of music that began catching the attention of people across the country.
In 2008, Shemrok made an unlikely connection; An old school Linoleum fan from MA Chalee Cyanide. Chalee quickly became an important part of DRC and its art direction. Through Cyanide (aka Enemy) the family was introduced to his partner in crime Ottomic Blue. Ambitious and driven, Blue immediately set to work on building up DRC Records and his first songs, some of which would become the earliest recognizable version of his first LP "Welcome to the Show". When Ottomic was preparing for his first show, he approached Acidrop about performing with him. The first live performance was a mix of Ottomic's newest songs and Cooler Than Smack material.
Ever-driven, he set up show after show, with Acidrop and Blue forming a live repoire, and cheeky antics filled with hard hitting instrumentals. This was the earliest form of Jindas Emcees, and they started constantly performing around MA. After writing songs together, Ottomic prepared to go out west and paid a visit to Shemrok. In the weeks leading up to the trip, Acidrop introduced Ottomic to Jester X, of horror-core/wicked-shit perveyours Dead Zone. When offered with the chance to go to Los Angeles with Ottomic Blue to see his good friend Shemrok, Acidrop and Ottomic began fitting Jester X into the performances, even doing Dead Zone songs occasionally. They then made their way across the country, played a few shows and formed bonds as far as Utah, with Hollowgloomz and Funeral Parlor Productions.
When they returned, things were in full swing for DRC with the first pressings of “Drugrat Fieldtrip”, “Night of the Toxic Dead”, “Bugz” and “Welcome to the Show”. Jindas became tighter and with Jester X fully integrated into the group, earned their spot amongst the most creative, energetic, and entertaining rap groups around. In 2010, Ottomic Blue released his second LP "The Show Must Go On" featuring Shemrok, Acidrop, Jester X and Driftski (reworking the CTS classic “Toxic Sludge”). "The Show Must Go On" is a progression of Ottomic Blue’s penchant for geek culture and shroom-trip insights. The DRC Mixtape "20,000 Leagues under the Streets" will feature each member of Jindas Emcees, Shemrok Christ, Cooler Than Smack legend Driftski, Utah horror-core madmen from Funeral Parlor Productions, brand new Clambake and much more! Also, Acidrop's first full-length solo album "Orange Sky Youth" is due out sometime in late 2010. Jester X is working on a new Dead Zone album with 2Phace, and Ottomic Blue is currently working with Shemrok Christ on releasing a new Better Off Dead (B.O.D) album for second quarter 2010.

Acidrop Bio

Acidrop, also known as AlexOne or AcidOne is a musician/artist who has been playing shows and recording music since 2003. Acidrop currently performs with Cult Boston Hip-Hop group "Cooler Than Smack" as well as his new Rap group "Jindas Emcees" with Ottomic Blue. Aside from Hip-Hop music, he also is Bass Player in thrash metal band "In The Flesh" and is front man of the chaotic punk band "Clambake"
"So here's my deal. I started by playing in punk bands since 1998, most notably being lead vocalist of Clambake from Brockton, MA. In 2003, I started to make hip-hop beats and during some down time began writing. After sharpening my skills and stoicly avoiding all hip-hop stereo-types, I joined Boston underground derilects "Cooler Than Smack". From there, Shemrok (also of acid-rap group BOD) and I (now going by the name Acidrop) recorded "Drugrat Fieldtrip". After playing a few shows I started Clambake with my brother Matti, Josh Goodreau, and Jeremy Nichols.. the illest mofo's I know. Years later I joined "In The Flesh", the fastest thrash band in the south shore. Most recently, I can be seen rocking shows with "Ottomic Blue" either seperatley or together as "Jindas Emcees"."

Bryan Singer returns to the Marvel Universe

GEEK NEWS SERIES: Bryan Singer returns to the Marvel Universe
 by OTTOMIC BLUE

This is huge news for this geek! Bryan Singer is returning to the Marvel U to direct X-Men: First Class, which is currently in pre-production. For those unaware, Singer wrote and directed X-men, and X2: X-Men United in the '90s.The First X-Men film along with the Blade series started in the same decade stepped the game of comic book movies up to a new tier. Taking the audience and subject matter seriously, he managed to portrait the characters and their relations within the Xavier Institute.  Though the colorful costumed heroes of  comic pages may appeal to the eye, the deep relations and problems of these characters make us all relate to them. Many fans were heartbroken when the production company behind these films opted to have Singer direct Superman Returns. In fact it is rumored that during the making of X Men 3 , there were negotiations to get Singer back on the Marvel scene.
X-Men: First Class is the next film in the Origins series. This film is going to show us a younger Cyclops, Jean Grey and Beast as well as the forming of Xavier's school for the gifted.
"Just doing younger mutants is not enough," said Singer during an interview with The Los Angeles Times." The story needs to be more than that. I love the relationship between Magneto and Xavier, these two men who have diametrically opposite points of view but still manage to be friends — to a point. They are the ultimate frenemies." Additionally, Singer revealed that "X-Men" producers are also pursuing him for X-Men 4.
Singer is currently contracted to direct Jack the Giant Killer, which may prevent him from taking on an additional "X-Men" film. During the interview, Singer spoke directly to "X-Men" producer Shuler Donner regarding X-Men 4.
"Hold that one off for just a little," requested Singer. "I'm fixated on the other one right now."
"I will, I will,"  Shuler Donner replied. "I'm holding it open with high hopes. It's totally different [from 'First Class'] and it will be so interesting for you." Although those are just verbal exchanges.... this geek has his fingers crossed for more Singer at the Institute.

"CABIN FEVER 2" IN-DEPTH REVIEW BY WHINO

My first horror film review for Drugratz.com will begin with a brief visualization exercise.  Picture, if you will, a typical American high school on a warm spring evening populated not by people, but by horror films and icons.  The gym is draped in gossamer of the deepest black and most sanguine red.  Blood-curdling screams and the sounds of various dismemberments echo throughout as the soundtrack for this particular night.  A buffet provided by the Hewitt family’s roadside butcher shop lines one wall.  An alleged hermaphrodite commands attention at center court, while a horse-faced extra from another lame remake leaves room for the lord with her date in the shadows.  A bucket of blood teeters precariously in the rafters over the stage unbeknownst to both the quietly awkward girl and Principal Romero, as a man in a tattered sweater lurks in the school boiler room waiting to invade the drunken post-coital slumber of the student body. And while one student was so distracted she missed a call and others occupied their time hellraising, nobody seemed to notice the 16 uninvited producers sneak in through the back door, roofie the punch, and drag an unassuming and defenseless Cabin Fever into the locker room to violate it in ways previously unimaginable. Apparently the post-gang-rape abortion failed and after a dragged-out three-year gestation, Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever hit the floor with an uneventful splat in 2010.

This straight-to-dvd monstrosity bears little resemblance to its predecessor and is lacking most of the elements that made Eli Roth’s Cabin Fever one of my all-time favorite movies.  The story commences a couple of days after the previous film’s conclusion, with Paul (a role reprised by Rider Strong) arising from the stream where he had been dumped and left for dead by Deputy Winston (the only other returning character from the first film, played by Giuseppe Andrews).  Paul stumbles through the forest, more closely resembling the toxic-waste-soaked Emil from Robocop than the severely infected hermit Henry from the first Cabin Fever, while leaving pieces of himself behind in the brush.  Rider Strong receiving top billing for this film is odd since, within a minute, an actor so laden in make up effects that he is barely recognizable as himself is liquidated by the grill of a speeding school bus. I’m left to assume that this was a desperate attempt to attract fans of the first film that, like myself, were leery of any sequel not helmed by Roth.  Deputy Sheriff Winston enters the story at this point, investigating the scene of the vehicular slaughter.  After assuring the bus driver that it was just a moose and expounding some of that creepy Winston wisdom, our 40 slugging anti-hero discovers a boot still holding its former host’s foot as the blood-painted bus continues on its merry way to begin the school day.  Winston is almost creamed himself by a Downhome Spring Water truck, triggering a rapid-fire montage during which he pieces together the chain of events he has triggered by dumping Paul in the stream that feeds Downhome’s bottling plant.  Winston spends the majority of the rest of the film in self-preservation mode.  He provides little in the way of comic relief in the sequel, and it’s a shame that his screen time was mostly wasted.

Some key plot points are developed through a 2nd rate animated sequence that shows some of the freshly-bottled pathogens on their journey to Springfield High School, the home of Spring Fever’s doomed prom.  Enter our typical clichéd high school students: the questionably lovable geek lead and his too-popular-for-him love interest, his horny disheveled wise-cracking sidekick, the love interest’s borderline psychopathic jock boyfriend, the cocky blonde guy and the morbidly obese busybody who worships him, a blond cheerleader with a life goal of becoming prom queen, a disgruntled janitor (who becomes infected during the opening animated sequence), and a bevy of socially inept and stereotypical faculty members, with the exception being the principal’s unconventional private life.  None of the characters is overly likeable and I found myself not particularly caring if and when most met their demise, although I did get slight satisfaction from one scene involving a nail gun.

As would be expected from a movie bearing the Cabin Fever name, the story picks up the pace in not only the spread of infection, but in the amount of resulting violence and gore, leading to chaos and the complete meltdown of acceptable conduct and decorum.  The addition of a fictional government agency bent on quarantining and eliminating the spread of the infection by any means necessary adds a sinister new enemy to the equation.  Once the pieces are in place, the plot follows a rather predictable course Ultimately the story brings us to a country road at night, van speeding away from town on it’s way to Mardi Gras, lone survivor of the prom amongst others on their way to unwittingly spread the virus further. There’s another sub-par sequel in the books with another one on the way, or so you would think. The movie is dragged behind the van for another 10 minutes or so with an unconvincing strip club scene that was not part of the original script. Learning after the fact that the stripclub seats were filled with several of the film’s producers, this scene seems like either an ego-stroke to some already way-too-involved producers, or a less costly attempt to stretch the film toward the ninety-minute mark.  I have a hard time believing any scenes on the cutting room floor were worse than this. The movie concludes with another lower quality animated sequence and cuts to the credits.

Absent from this film are the mood-establishing shots of the first film as well as the tripped-out cut sequences.  While the first film maintains a constant tension and an eerie sense of foreboding that results in the inevitable meltdown, the sequel only causes me to long for the progression of the disease to get shorter so I can be on my way.  The progression of the disease did indeed get shorter, but also altered in a way that totally disrupted any sense of continuity from the first film.  A red rash, open sores, and decaying flesh were replaced with squirting, pus-filled boils that looked like giant pimples.  The rash led to vomiting of blood several hours later in the first film, where the order was reversed in most cases in Spring Fever.  There are no quirky minor characters such as Dennis (PANCAAAKES!) or shop-owner Old Man Cadwell in the sequel to speak of.  Judah Friedlander of Feast and TV’s 30 Rock plays no real consequential role in the film and is just another name in the credits.

The gore factor of the film is high but is not of a quality level expected by fans of a movie carrying the Cabin Fever label.  The first movie had its gory elements but blood was minimal and confined to a few key moments. Blood spray abounds at the prom, but in many cases looks like somebody is just out of the shot lobbing buckets of fake blood on extras.  A scene involving infected genitals seems gratuitous and could have been left assumed, but this is coming from somebody who is not particularly fond of seeing other guys’ junk in movies. I will admit this scene is as cringe-inducing as any scene in recent memory.  Other gore scenes include a janitor urinating blood in an unsavory place, the school’s resident whale getting “harpooned” to death in the pool, and a vaguely familiar scene involving a tourniquet, a table saw, and a torch.  There is another scene involving a blowjob from a metal-mouthed girl with a cold sore that, while not particularly gory, provides another of the film’s unsettling gross-out moments.

Just as Eli Roth borrowed portions of the film’s score from both The Last House on the Left and The Shining, Spring Fever pays homage to a classic by predictably using a song from the 1980 version of Prom NightSpring Fever was a major disappointment for seeming at times to poke fun at and degrade the era of horror films that the first film attempted to emulate and pay respect. Fans of the first film may notice some references, such as the reappearance of Bunnyman from Paul’s time in the hospital.  In this installment, the Bunnyman is the mascot of the high school.  Winston orders pancakes and raves about them to the waitress at the diner, which may or may not be the same pancakes that fuel Dennis’s obsession.   And keep an eye out for a cheesy and less than competent martial arts music montage not-so-reminiscent of one in Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master

Director Ti West should not be held accountable for this trainwreck.  Attempts to disown the film and have it released under the pseudonym Alan Smithee, a moniker used by Directors Guild of America members to detach themselves from a film when they lose creative control, were met with rejection because West was not a member of the guild.  The editing process of the film had been taken over by the producers and the film was finished without West’s input.  I would be curious to see what Ti West’s finished product would look like had he been allowed to complete the project.

Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever is one stillbirth of a sequel that should have been buried just a little deeper in a school bathroom trashcan.  Spring Fever is 87 minutes that I would have rather spent hitting my groin with a ball-peen hammer.  I can only blame myself for the other 87 minutes I lost watching it again like a rubber-necker passing an orphanage fire, thus solidifying it in my long-term memory.  Maybe I should have tried the punch instead.

Several Hundred words with Alex One

I've always known that the world was run by some sick fucks.. In my early, angsty punk rock youth I was just a person looking for a cause, ignorrant of why I was so eager to find a "fight", if you catch my meaning of the word. I wasn't ever interested in fighting other people individually, like say fist fights. I always remember wanting to change the world. I remember hearing Pennywise for the first time and just being blown away.
I bought "Unknown Road" on tape and was simply floored. I was in the 6th grade I think. Maybe 7th. Either way, from the first reverb-drenched notes played on piano, into the thrashing drums and fast guitars and for the whole entire tape, I just sat there.. I listened to Jim sing. I really listened to the words, and took them to heart. "City is Burning" made me FEEL the social riot happening around the world. "Vices" kept me straight edge for a really long time. But "Homesick"... Holy shit, I remember thinking "are these dudes from Brockton?"
The MOMENT that tape ended, I RIGHT AWAY flipped it over back to side A to listen again and my radio promptly ate it. Undeterred, I went to RECORD TOWN (That's right, mother fucker said RECORD TOWN) and bought "About Time". Same thing. It was like Pennywise was my new teacher. Fuck School. They taught lies and propaganda. Pennywise from shooting right from the fucking hip.. This shit was my energy drink. All I needed to go skate was a small dose of Pennywise.
Years past, and Pennywise was still a classic but I had expanded my horizons. I was hearing Operation Ivy and FEELING like I was right fucking there in East Bay! "Knowledge", "Bad Town", "Just Another Crowd", "Room Without A Window", "Unity", etc... It was Pennywise all over again. Just the black and white album cover. And the back cover. IT was too good.
Punk Rock was always right there. Teaching me right from wrong. Telling me the same shit my parents were, but in a different way (even if it took me many years to truly realize it). Punk Rock taught me you didn't need the flash, you didn't need nice clothes. You didn't need what everyone else needed, cuz they were a bunch of shallow twats. And so I was happy. Everyone at school seemed so fucking fake and hollow. I just knew these people were acting a certain way, and feeling something else.
They were as empty as the music they listened to. They were listening to music that denegrated women, glorified the pursuit of wealth. This music was telling them, MAKE MONEY! BUY THE DOPEST CAR AVAILABLE! FUCK ANYONE OVER TO GET IT! YOU WILL GET WOMEN!!

They were all but promised this...
Their lives held no true value. They studied what was needed in order to pass the exams, and graduate and get on with their paper chase. I was listening to Naked Agression. They were screaming at me, ever so urgently that "there's food rotting away in warehouses while people starve to death". I could SEE the warehouse, I could SMELL the rotting food and I just remember having the most VIVID image of emaciated humans, wrapped up in filthy blankets.
I'm sitting there, thinking "Dude, I don't have time to buy a car. There's fucking people dying!" I was thinking, "how do all these rich corporation's CEOs sleep at night?" How do the owners of all the GAPS, and ABERCROMBIE and FITCH, and NIKE, and REEBOK.. HOW CAN THEY SIMPLY TURN A BLIND EYE TO THIS SHIT?!! So I never wore that shit. I ended up wearing hand-me-downs, and I rocked the same plaid-green flannel for like 6 years. I wore my shoes down to the sock.
I was always ate odds on who to blame. Was it the president? The gov't? The corporations? The masses of sleeping zombies? I was ready to go to war for the poor. I had all this angst, this anger, ready to go off at the first appropriate target.
More time passed. Then... 9/11.
I was at school, in English class. They made the announcement over the intercom that one of the buildings of the WTC was hit by an airliner. We were allowed to go to the cafeteria and watch the news. I SAW the 2nd plane hit. I was THOUGHLY convinced it was a SLAYER related incident, as "GOD HATES US ALL" came out that day. I know this because no one was shutting up about it! I came to 2 immediate conclusions.
1. Metal Heads were hijacking planes
2. It had something to do with Saddam.
Anyways, it was the day everything changed, yadda yadda yadda. There was all this new found patriotism. All of a sudden, there were American flags outside of every house. There was the candle light vigil/controlled anarchy in the streets (my boy Buster made a torch out of newspaper, screaming some anti-islamic rhetoric). EVERYONE bought into that shit. I did to a point, too. I definatly considered it within the realm of possibility that Islamic extremists had planned a massive attack on the financial center of the United States.
So, after a few months of FOXNEWS keeping everyone indoors, scared, and eyes glued to the scrolling words on the bottom of the screen, President Bush was sending troops. I remember thinking "A bit fucking late for that, eh?" Everyone was talking about how we were gonna catch Osama Bin Laden. Everyone was ready for a fight. But our old pal TV kept everyone in check. There were videos of a few different Osama Bin Ladens threatening this and that. Each time I'm thinking "That's not the same dude from before". Furthermore, I knew that this went deeper than Al-Quada or the Taliban. Something didn't sit right.
So my punk rock intuition kicked in. I though "if this is what everyone believes to be fact, it can't be true. These people are fucking idiots! Distractable, greedy, weaselly idiots!" So in true punk rock fashion, I looked at the president as the first scapegoat. I wasn't so much interested in facts as I was just getting President Bush impeached, after hearing all this hype about "prior knowledge" and such.
By this time, I was going to school with a bright red patch on the arm of the previously mentioned plaid green flannel that said "FUCK WAR". The other arm had a swastika patch with a red strike through it. None of the Brockton High administration said anything, probably fearing some crazy freedom of speech controversy. I was pretty much quiet at school, so I think they just let it slide. I was listening to a lot of Anti-Flag and getting into the more informed political side of things.
"A New Kind Of Army" and "No Borders, No Nations" truly inspired me to find what it was I truly believed, as I had learned at this point the you couldn't put punk rock in a box. You couldn't just say "Oh, this is how punk rockers think" (though I'm a big fan of this joke: How many punks does it take to change a lightbulb? None, cuz punks can't change anything! BWAHAHAH) This is also around the time now that President Bush declared the "WAR ON TERROR", and even though I was still pretty ignorrant at the time, I remember thinking "How does he expect to declare war on an emotion" as well as musing to myself "The media is spreading more fear and terror than Al-Quada! Send troops into FOXNEWS! SEND THEM TO CNN!"
Then the NOFX album "War on Errorism" came out, and it was a wrap. The lyrics of that album put shit in perspective for me. It made me realize I was this one guy with my eyes open (blurry they may be) in a sea of fucking people with their eyes stapled shut, iPod headphones in their ears, wearing football jerseys with a fucking beer in one hand and syringe filled to the tip with morpine in the other, shooting themselves up with blind, distracted ignorrance.
It was around this time I was getting in to hip-hop like Gangstarr, Tribe Called Quest, Afrika Baambatta, EPMD, you know.. That ill shit. At the time I wasn't in a band anymore, and I had been making rap beats for the fun of it. It only made sense to put words to them. I wasn't the best, but knowing that I come from a circle of punk kids and such who may not be diggin the idea of me trying to rap, I was sooo fucking determined to be good. I didn't wanna be wack like the rappers at Brockton High who like punchlines with the joke implying they have a bigger gun than their theoretical opponent and how they would use it.
It was the same paper chasing, blind mother fuckers..
Not seeing the writing on the walls..
Not seeing the massive changes happening around them.
But they weren't the only ones.
Seemed like it was the new thing. Willingly giving up freedom in exchange for a false sense of security they would never have. This was like 2003, or something. It's almost 2010 and it's the same story. People are still afraid Bin Laden's gonna come into their houses and put anthrax in their mountain dew. Alot changed since then. My hip-hop tastes moved from Gangstarr towards Jedi Mind Tricks, Non Phixion, and that hard as nails street shit. Not the coke slinging street shit, the "I shot reagan" street shit. There was something so fucking punk about all that. That's what made me decide to find who's really responsible.
Whether or not I found who's to blame or if I ever will remains to be seen. But I'm on a constant search for answers. Not just politically.
SPIRITUALLY
See, what I learned was that the revolution is with YOU. It's not who we are against. It's what WE'RE FOR. It's about personal freedom, to decide what to think, free of media manipulation and opinionated journalists. I'm not gonna sit here and tell you that 9/11 was an inside job. If you feel so inclined to question it, look into it. There's alot of information for either side. I'm not gonna tell you to believe the Illuminati and Luciferians control the world because I believe that. However, as it is my views I will speak on these subjects, and now that I have a beautiful baby girl to look after, I seek change more than ever. And not that bullshit Obama change. I mean spiritual, social, mental and personal change.
We cannot keep living the way we do without consequence.
We can't pretend like it's going away.
It's getting worse.
But I am not without hope.
More and more people are awakening to the concept of, not losing their freedom, but of having never felt freedom.
You don't have to believe in God, Allah, Yaweh, Krishna, Buddha, Santa Clause, Hans Glockenspiel or fucking Spiderman.
But it is imperitive that each person finds something in themselves worth believing in. Proof of the connection each of us feels with one another. That goes for you, me, the starving homeless wrapped up in the soiled blankets, Pennywise, DJ Premier and Guru, the mindless drones of indoctrinated social slaves.. We are all born into this world naked and defenseless. No exceptions. There is a spirit energy that connects us all. You will know it's there when you look at the sky. Look at any point of the sky. Think of what lies directly underneath. It's the sorrow, the joy, the numbness, the heat of emotion. It's that blunt being rolled, it's that wife being smacked around, it's that 15 year old girl pouting cuz her parents took their cell phone, it's the Graffiti writers, it's the police, the wealthy, it's the poor, it's the living, it's the dying. It's all of us.
Can you feel it?

pen mind potential

628/2009

the sitter watching every
one around him move
reaching within once again strength
he know it's there ready pounce
at the opportunity wherever it sticks
itself the sitter waiting for the chance
to stand on something
more sturdy than sand
some will say his pen mind
has potential while some
just ask what size straight-jacket
does he wear not insulted just
encouraged to push through an and all
criticism and focus on the real thoughts
who will keep everyone focused on
the free thought while it remains free
at least or would they even
realize it's slipping away
with every ridiculous news story
to distract from the importance
of the free thought
freedom and the right to simply be
the inspiration is in front of me
as the watcher sits waiting
for the mist to turn to rain
the storm is what is needed
to refresh the ground around some
might say enough is enough
nearly twenty days recent rain involved
the revolution will be televised
but it won't be the one necessary
to take hold and secure free
thought once again addicted to thought
putting it here to persevere
it's freedom he wants it to fly
like he knows it can
and will given the chance...

fear is the epidemic

428.2009

fear is what they use to try to control us all
but we aren't as dumb as they want or need us to be
it's the flu, can it kill us, sure
will it stop everyone of us, not a chance
we will fight it until the last breath
the final moment
fear is the epidemic that they hope will catch us all
unsuspecting sleeping at the wheel
and swerving into each other...

living for a living

1113/2001 300pm

he's always accidentally
overhearing the audio autobiography
everyone carries in the back of their
mouth are the portable resumes
he's always hearing what people
have done but what are they doing
working for a living only means
doing what you really don't want
to be doing in order to make
money but how do we escape
the circle the tortures of society
as a whole everyone's enjoying
the recession media blitz war on terror
working for living and worried that there
will be nothing left when you can
work no more suddenly the clouds turn
purple as the night darkness
starts to threaten it's approach
fading into black like the end of a movie
but how many don't care
still working don't notice
he's trying his hardest
to make ends meet somewhere
in the middle so that he
can continue to be living for a living...

Ottomic Blue's Gripe with the Movie "SE7EN"

,

Okay so Seven is a great movie and all........Paltrow, Pitt, Freeman, Spacey....all awesome actors and awesome performances. The writing was great, direction as well down to the NIN looking openning credits. My gripe lies however in the conclusion. Kevin Spacey's John Doe is killing off people in New York, in reflection to their sin. So count of the deadly Sins with me and the victims.....

1. Gluttony--fat guy--fed until he burst
2. Greed--lawyer--bled to death
3. Sloth--Victor, drug dealer--tied to bed and starved for a year
4. Pride--Beauty queen--suicide (ate pills when given a choice between living on deformed or dying instead)
5. Lust--Blonde whore--fucked with the knife strap on
6. Envy--Kevin Spacey's John Doe--Shot by Det. Mills (upon revealing how he admired him, and cut off his wifes head)
7. Wrath--Brad Pitt's Det. David Mills-- ?????

Soooo... Spacey's sin was envy and he died for it by the hand of Pitt. Now Pitt embodies wrath and that is his of the 7 deadly sins. So in order for the 7 deaths and completion of Spacey's work....Pitt's character should die for his sin in some reflective manner. Unless he is put to death by the state or somethin it is left undone....he is taken away in the back of a cruiser at the end and the cheif says he will try to get him the best help and it ends....so i have always felt is is unfinished. thats all.

Ottomic Blue Bio

Growing up, it could be said that Ottomic Blue only woke up to immerse himself into his notebooks and sketch pads. Walking a little to the left, he strolled through this Long Road of life with headphones practically fused to his ears, wanting more. This among many other subtle connects is how the moniker of Ottomic (refering to sharing properties with Otto Mann of the Simpsons). This Life in a Small Town offered much time for the pair of Chalee Cyanide and Ottomic Blue to day dream of a future making art. The two often have been creative allies and always encouraged each others work. This art work, as well as their obsession with music kept them out of most (...well some) of the trouble their crowd was getting into. One of the musical break throughs for them came in the form of a tape brought to Blue by Chalee called "Disco Dust Delight" by Cooler Than Smack. The raw, dusted beats and straight hip hop flows was an instant hit to many in the area. Ottomic Blue recalls "I'll never forget the first time I saw CTS with Chalee when "Diabolical Dope Act" came out. Priceless. Dj was nasty, emcees tore it, and the break dance crew!! C'mon, who else offers that?". Cyanide and Blue found this brand of music unstoppable as well as relatable, living a faded lifestyle and making a living in MA. After many years of living life on a path which was leading the wrong way, Blue bought a guitar and moved from his New England home to the bottom of the east coast. Now posted in Florida, with solitude on his side as well as a few great friends, he began to write and record his own material. Some of these compositions, some songs, some straight experimental.. but this is how Ottomic Blue found his musical beginning. While wandering circles in this Labyrinth of life Blue recorded a few hours of material, writing and playing all instruments (percussion, bass, guitar). Meanwhile Chalee Cyanide picked up the turntables and rocked the walls all the way to Fuller St. from his new apartment... then he himself moved down to sunny Fla.
Fast forward to Ottomic Blue's return to Massachusetts due to some of life's Tortures, in lieu of guitar solos in his recording's, the flows begin. Always remaining a huge hip hop fan, Blue's music was more derived from his love of grunge and metal. Mainly reflected his biggest influences such as Nirvana, Pantera and Black Sabbath, using the power chord and catchy riffs to the fullest. While a few songs were build by Blue recording on his home cpu (in 2008/09 sessions), some were put online for all to hear. These demos included "Labyrinth", "Phantoms" and "Human Nature". Always remaining in touch, Ottomic was one of the first people to hear Chalee Cyanide's growth to a producer. Chalee's first two beats have evolved from demos to songs which will appear on Ottomc Blue's new record... the demos for these songs, "Evils" and "Madness" as well as the aforementioned solo demos caught the ear of the duo's newly befriended Shemrok Christ (ringleader of the Drugrat movement). Shemrok along with Driftski, was the Cooler Than Smack line up they had been bumping for over a decade. Chalee introduces Blue to Shemrok and booom! Here they are now.
Less thana year later with the endless help and support of his new family at DRC/Linoleum records, Ottomic Blue has released his debut "Welcome to the Show EP". Containing instant fan favorites like the banger "The Darkness" and "Life in a Small Town", the EP spread throughout his home state quickly. On his debut effort Ottomic Blue introduces you to his version of what has been labeled "stoner-hop". Bringing together his clouded memories, life stories, and inviting you into his world from relatable tracks like "Broke Man Blues" to refusing to rap about the norm and telling you "I'm a Geek!" instead. Now teamed up with Cooler Than Smack member, producer annd super emcee Acidrop, Ottomic Blue has been doing shows around the state to promo this debut.
. All the while dropping verses for collaborations with labelmates Better Off Dead, the DRC labels Holiday Whammy Lps (so far they have Halloween and Xmas, both 09) and mixtapes across the US. 1 EP, 5 Label features, and a few shows and mixtapes later... 2009 has been a productive intro year for Ottomic Blue. Along with booking shows for all of 2010, he is also currently in the midst of recording his sophmore effort, "The  Show  Must  Go  On".

You can now find Ottomic Blue rocking stages, bar rooms, bah mitzvahs, parking lots and alleyways with Acidrop & Jester X to promote their solo efforts, and thier new project together "Jindas Emcees".
